Fayetteville Christian School

Listed
Fayetteville, ARGrades K-12$6,500/year K5-12 (2026-27, including fees)

Fayetteville Christian School began in 1978, when parents at Mission Boulevard Baptist Church started a K4 and K5 program so their children could have an affordable Christian education. We added grades each year, and since the early 1980s we have taught kindergarten through 12th grade. We earned accreditation from the Arkansas Nonpublic School Accreditation Association in 1994. Our curriculum teaches from a Biblical worldview with a traditional approach. Elementary students build reading through phonics, word families and syllable patterns, write journals, reports, poems and essays, and study BJU Press Heritage Studies and hands-on BJU science with lab activities. Placement testing or developmental screening is part of admission. We offer limited special education support: the admissions team reviews IEP, 504 and IAP plans case by case to decide whether we can meet a student's needs. 2026-27 tuition and fees total $6,500 for K5 through 12th grade, and we are an approved provider for Arkansas LEARNS Education Freedom Accounts, which cover that full cost. After-school care runs until 5:30 p.m. for kindergarten through 6th grade, with supervised homework, games and snacks. Our Eagles play basketball in the Heartland Christian Athletic Association.

Frequently Asked Questions About Special Needs Schools in Fayetteville

Is Fayetteville's income-based Pre-K the same as preschool special education?
No. Fayetteville's Pre-K uses income eligibility under a sliding scale or other ABC requirements and runs at six elementary sites. Preschool special education is different. Under Section 619 of IDEA, children ages 3 through 5 with a disability are entitled to special education and related services in the least restrictive environment through the district.
Can a homeschooled or private school student get services?
Possibly. Fayetteville Public Schools says students in private school or home school settings may be eligible for services under IDEA and that a district team coordinates and carries out those services. Contact Special Services to ask about an evaluation and what services would look like for your child. See our evaluation guide.
Who handles infants and toddlers in Arkansas?
First Connections is Arkansas's lead agency for Part C early intervention, serving children from birth to 3. At age 3, the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is the lead agency for Part B services delivered through local districts like Fayetteville. Start transition planning before the third birthday. Our early intervention guide explains the steps.
What does a continuum of services mean in Fayetteville?
It means the district offers a range of settings, from support inside the general classroom to more specialized instruction outside it. Fayetteville says maximizing participation in general education comes first, and options become more restrictive as general classroom time decreases. The IEP team decides the setting. Bring our IEP prep checklist.
