Thriving Minds Academy - Apache Junction

Thriving Minds Academy is a specialized school and clinic in Apache Junction for children with autism spectrum disorder. Its special education program covers kindergarten through fifth grade, roughly ages 5 to 11, the years that lay the foundation for later academic success and social development. Instruction looks at the whole child, supporting mental, emotional, and social well-being alongside academic growth.

Social-emotional learning teaches students to manage emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions, and mindfulness practices such as deep breathing help them handle stress. Physical activity is built into the school day, and personalized learning includes project-based work, individualized instruction, and opportunities for student choice and voice. The team is led by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and the center also provides ABA therapy, including one-on-one sessions in which a therapist works with a single client, along with augmentative and alternative communication support.
