We had a negative experience and do not feel comfortable recommending this to other families. The overall approach and environment did not work for us. We transferred our child elsewhere.

Therapists know what they are doing. Wish they had better hours for working parents.

Compassionate, evidence-based ABA therapy for ages 2-21. Supporting communication, social skills & daily routines. We provide individualized, in-home care that empowers children and supports families every step of the way.
New Patterns ABA provides in-home and community-based ABA therapy for children, teens, and adults with autism across the Greater Richmond area. Sessions take place where families live and learn, in the home and in the community, so new skills carry over into daily routines. Each client is paired with a provider matched to their needs and goals, and a BCBA builds an individualized plan that adapts as the client progresses. The team takes a whole-person approach, giving every client, family, and caregiver a voice in the process, with parent training built in so progress continues between sessions. Scheduling is flexible, including evening and weekend availability. Privately owned and family-centered, New Patterns ABA is small enough to know each client personally and experienced enough to support complex needs. The team manages insurance authorizations and paperwork from the first call to help care begin without delay. Service areas include Richmond and surrounding communities across Henrico, Chesterfield, and Hanover counties.
Autism Center of Excellence (AutismCOE) provides personalized ABA therapy for children on the autism spectrum, serving North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland with a Virginia clinical team. Its Early Intervention Program supports children roughly ages 1.5 to 6, and the AutismCOE Academy School Readiness Program prepares children with mild to moderate autism for the transition to formal schooling using ABA principles and play-based learning. BCBA-led clinicians build individualized treatment plans focused on communication, social skills, behavior reduction, daily living skills, and parent involvement. The center advertises no waitlists and works with most major insurance plans.
