About the Center

The Transitions Foundation College Autism Support Program in Wilmington helps recent high school graduates and college-age autistic students build the academic, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills that campus life demands. Programming is self-directed and community-based rather than a traditional K-12 classroom.

Small groups and individualized coaching address scheduling, assignments, social connection, and vocational planning. Year-round enrollment options exist for students who need continuity between semesters.

Reach out when your teen is preparing for Cape Fear Community College, UNC Wilmington, or another local postsecondary path and needs structured transition support instead of pediatric ABA alone.

The organization maintains BHCOE accreditation organization-wide and emphasizes responsive scheduling with minimal delays whenever staffing permits. Parents remain integral collaborators. Apricott prioritizes transparent updates, guided participation in sessions when clinically beneficial, and coordination with schools when teams agree services should extend into educational environments.
