Prism Autism Services - Albuquerque
This is the Albuquerque location of Prism Autism Services, on Columbine Avenue NE in the northeast heights. Prism is a New Mexico organization working with people diagnosed with autism from 18 months old through adulthood, and it also runs a site in Santa Fe. The model puts applied behavior analysis, speech-language pathology and occupational therapy inside a single provider rather than leaving families to assemble those pieces themselves. Prism's argument is that combining them maximizes treatment effectiveness and builds functional communication faster than three separate practices working without reference to one another. Intensity is substantial. Programming runs 20 to 40 hours a week across center, home and community settings, covering core foundational skills, classroom readiness and facilitated peer and social interaction. That range is worth discussing at intake, because 40 hours a week is a significant commitment for a family and the right number depends on the child rather than on a default. Prism serves people well past childhood, which matters in a field where options often thin out sharply once a young person leaves school. All four Prism sites share one line, (505) 508-0865, so say which location you are asking about.
Adaptive Therapies
Adaptive Therapies is a therapy clinic on East Navajo Street in Farmington, serving San Juan County in New Mexico's northwest corner. It works primarily with children from birth to 21 and also offers therapy services for adults, so a family is not forced to change providers when a young person ages out. The clinical approach is play-based. The practice's stated position is that a child's primary occupation is play, and that play supports every area of development and learning, so sessions are structured around it rather than around drills. Clinicians carry more than 30 years of combined experience across occupational and physical therapy. What families describe most consistently is scheduling and reliability: appointments arranged around a child's school and sport commitments, and sessions that start and end on time. That sounds minor until you are the parent driving across a rural county twice a week. Therapists are named and stay with a child over years rather than rotating. Farmington is the practical hub for families across the Four Corners, and this is one of very few pediatric therapy options in the area. Call (505) 386-0075 to ask about availability and which insurance is accepted.
