Proud Moments ABA - North Brunswick

North Brunswick's Proud Moments center is on Route 27, at 2186 North NJ 27 in Middlesex County, and the number is 732-339-3335. Jasna Martinovic is center leader for this site as well as Metuchen. Sessions run Monday through Friday from 8am to 7pm, with weekends closed. New clients are being accepted and no waitlist is reported.

Care is one to one Applied Behavior Analysis for children on the autism spectrum. The intake path starts with an advocate, who takes family information and contacts the insurance carrier to begin authorization. A BCBA assessment and a written individualized treatment plan follow. Each child is then matched with a BCBA and therapist team.

Children from infancy through age 21 are served, and Proud Moments holds a BHCOE Award of Distinction. The center accepts Horizon, Aetna, Oxford, UnitedHealthcare, Medicaid and TRICARE, along with Cigna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Goals commonly include communication and language acquisition. Adaptive daily living skills cover safety awareness, toilet training and executive functioning, and social and emotional skills such as reading social cues and taking turns are covered as well. The work moves into job competence skills for older clients, and programs also reduce tantrums, self-injury and aggression. Complex skills are broken into smaller steps and taught with positive reinforcement in naturalistic settings, and a data-driven review process with senior clinician supervision tracks progress. Parent training and direct supervision of behavior techniques are part of the service.
