Proud Moments ABA - Metuchen

This Middlesex County center is at 1 Highland Ave. in Metuchen. Jasna Martinovic is the center leader here and at North Brunswick too. Weekday hours are 8am to 7pm, the center is closed Saturday and Sunday, and there is no waitlist for new clients.

Children on the autism spectrum receive center-based Applied Behavior Analysis in one to one sessions. An advocate opens intake by taking family information and contacting the insurance company for authorization. A BCBA assesses the child and writes an individualized treatment plan, and a BCBA and therapist team delivers it.

Teaching breaks complex skills into smaller steps and uses positive reinforcement in naturalistic settings, with a data-driven review process and senior clinician supervision behind it. Regular parent training and direct supervision of behavior techniques are included. Proud Moments works with children from infancy through age 21 and holds a BHCOE Award of Distinction. The center accepts Horizon, Aetna, Oxford and UnitedHealthcare, along with Medicaid, TRICARE, Cigna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Work spans communication and language acquisition. Social and emotional skills are covered, such as understanding social cues, following rules and taking turns, and adaptive daily living skills are covered too. Older clients build skills connected to job competence. Programs also reduce tantrums, self-injury and aggression where they interfere with development.
