Proud Moments ABA - Chatham
Chatham, NJ • Infancy through 21 • In-clinic (center-based), One to one sessions
Chatham's center is on Main St. at number 330, in Morris County, and families can reach it on 973-291-2667. Jessica Mathews serves as center leader. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm, with the center closed Saturday and Sunday. There is currently no waitlist. The service is center-based Applied Behavior Analysis for children on the autism spectrum, delivered in one to one sessions. Families start with an advocate, who takes their information and begins insurance authorization. A BCBA assesses the child and writes a comprehensive individualized treatment plan, and a BCBA and therapist team puts it into practice. Instruction breaks complex skills into smaller steps and uses positive reinforcement in naturalistic settings, and progress is reviewed against data with senior clinician supervision. Parents get regular training, plus direct supervision of the behavior techniques they use at home. Programs build communication, including initiating and holding conversation. Social and emotional skills are covered, as are daily living skills like toilet training, safety awareness and executive functioning. Older clients work toward job competence skills, and therapy addresses tantrums, self-injury and aggression where those get in the way of learning. Ages run from infancy through 21, and Proud Moments holds a BHCOE Award of Distinction. Horizon, Aetna, Oxford, UnitedHealthcare, Medicaid and TRICARE are accepted here, as are Cigna and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
