Children's Village

Children’s Village is a comprehensive, family-centered organization in Yakima, Washington, that serves children with special health care and developmental needs. For over 25 years, the facility has integrated medical, educational, and therapeutic services under one roof, functioning as a beacon of hope for families across Central Washington. The organization’s mission is to support the complex requirements of children and their families through collaborative and coordinated supports, aiming to reduce the burden of care and enable families to thrive.

The center offers a wide array of programs, including the Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program for children from birth to age three. ESIT provides families with resources and support from a multidisciplinary team that includes educators, nurses, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and therapists. The approach is guided by seven core principles, emphasizing that families are equal partners and that services should be provided in natural environments where children live, learn, and play.

For older children and adolescents up to age 18, Children’s Village provides outpatient therapy services, including physical, occupational, and speech-language pathology. The facility also houses specialized clinics, such as the Autism Spectrum Disorders Diagnostic Clinic, which utilizes a team of specialized practitioners led by developmental and behavioral pediatricians. Other services include pediatric dentistry, behavioral health, and family support through programs like Parent to Parent and the Nurse-Family Partnership.

The Village is designed as a child-friendly environment, featuring unique architectural elements like 'barn doors' and farm-themed murals to make visits less intimidating. It operates as a partnership between regional healthcare and educational organizations, primarily MultiCare and Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC), ensuring that specialized care is accessible to families in the Central Washington area. Admissions and referrals are handled through a coordinated process to ensure children are connected with the appropriate specialists and supports.
