Foothills Christian School

Bethany Christian Preschool is a private Christ-centered early childhood program serving children ages 2-5 in Mount Vernon, Washington. The preschool provides play-based, inclusive education with family partnerships and toilet training support for young children. Bethany Christian emphasizes academic preschool programming integrated with Christian values, focusing on routine and emotional development. We are a Catholic school serving children from preschool through eighth grade. Our preschool uses play-based learning to build early literacy and fine-motor skills, and children also take part in Spanish, library, physical education, and art. Across our grades, teachers use differentiated instruction, projects, and a student support team to help children access the curriculum. Families are active partners in our school community.

Kids N Us Early Learning School on Chenoweth Street in Mount Vernon welcomes everyone from 4-week-old infants to 12-year-olds, keeping weekday hours from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Classrooms are grouped by age, from infants, waddlers and toddlers to a preschool room for ages 2 and a half to 4 and a pre-kindergarten room that builds pre-reading, pre-writing and early math skills ahead of kindergarten. Our Literacy First curriculum puts books at the center of every lesson plan, with learning centers for blocks, cooking, dramatic play, art, music and movement, science and sensory play. Children also learn basic sign language through songs, Second Step social-emotional lessons and the Smart Moves physical activity program. A full-time chef prepares breakfast, lunch and snacks on site through the USDA Food Program, served family style, and every classroom has a WatchMeGrow camera so parents can check in on a live video stream. Children in kindergarten through 5th grade ride our inspected buses to and from local elementary schools for before and after care, and the Summerpalooza day camp fills summer with themed weeks and field trips.
