Weilenmann School of Discovery

Weilenmann School of Discovery is a tuition-free public charter school in Park City with a preschool, a lower school for kindergarten through fifth grade, and a middle school for sixth through eighth.

The school provides a full continuum of special education services and welcomes all students regardless of disability or need for special support. Special education teachers design and use instruction appropriate to each student's IEP, and the school tracks and assesses both student and teacher performance against the achievement of that IEP. Technology, media, science, and the visual and performing arts are folded into the special education curriculum. Families can read the school's special education policy and procedure manual and its evaluation procedure, along with the IEP procedural safeguards notice and information on the Carson Smith Special Education Scholarship Program. Section 504 is handled separately, with its own procedural safeguards, for students who need accommodations without qualifying for an IEP.

As a Title I targeted assistance school, Weilenmann also directs federal funds toward students at risk of falling short of state standards in reading, language arts, and mathematics, and it runs a McKinney-Vento program for students experiencing homelessness. Enrollment inquiries and campus visits are arranged through the school office on Kilby Road.
