GreenWood Charter School

GreenWood Charter School is a tuition-free K-8 public charter school in Weber County, Utah. Its stated focus is the holistic education of students through health and wellness, community and environmental connectedness, and student-engaged learning.

The program rests on three pillars: EL Education, health and wellness, and environmental education. Students begin the day with a mindful class meeting called Crew to set intention for the day, and the school emphasizes fresh and locally sourced food, daily movement, and regular exercise. There are no vending machines on site.

Student support staff listed by the school include two special education teachers, a behavior specialist, a reading and intervention specialist, school counselors, and paraprofessionals. As a Utah local education agency, the school also publishes the Carson Smith Special Needs Scholarship notice for families of students eligible for an IEP.
