Great Hearts Live Oak

Part of the nonprofit Great Hearts network of classical schools, Great Hearts Live Oak is a tuition-free public charter academy for kindergarten through 12th grade. Our teachers lead with the Socratic method, asking questions that push students to reason through literature, philosophy, math and science, beginning in kindergarten and building to seminar discussion in the upper grades.

Lower school students learn reading and writing through the Spalding Method, follow the Core Knowledge sequence and study Singapore Math, and families build a personal library through our Classics to Keep book list. We use an inclusion model for special education, with classroom teachers collaborating with the special education teacher to support each student's IEP, and we offer Section 504 plans and ESL support.

After school, Athenaeum serves grades K to 5 and Homework Club serves grades 6 to 12 until 6:00 p.m. Summer Camp and Kinder Readiness run each June, and we are a Title I campus that partners with a meal provider for breakfast and lunch.
