About Golden Rule Charter School Grand Prairie
Golden Rule Schools began in 2001, when Dr. Vicente Delgado, a pastor, saw that many south Dallas families needed better options and opened a single campus on Illinois Avenue. Twenty-five years later we operate five tuition-free campuses across the Dallas area, including this one in Grand Prairie, and alumni now enroll their own children.
We are an open-enrollment public charter school under the Texas Education Code, accountable to the same state academic standards as district schools. Admission is open without regard to ability or disability, and a lottery is held when applications exceed available seats.
Our full-day PreK3 and PreK4 programs run at every campus, with an average of 14 students per class and multiple adults in each room. Children start with breakfast and circle time, rotate through hands-on centers, and spend afternoons on science and math with sensory tables, recess, quiet time and a closing read-aloud. PreK3 has eligibility criteria such as economic need or English learner status.
