About Carver Elementary School

George Washington Carver Elementary carries a long history in Georgetown. In 1964, 175 Black students in grades 1 through 12 moved from the condemned original Carver School to a new building at Carver Park, land the city sold to the school district for one dollar. That school was known for years as Westside School until community members restored the Carver name, and in August 2015 Georgetown ISD opened our current campus on Scenic Lake Drive.

Today we serve Pre-K through 5th grade, with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classrooms alongside Pre-K. Our specialized learning team of 17 staff members and our interventionists work with students who need extra help, and a counselor, nurse and librarian serve the whole school. Students also attend specials classes.

Families can get involved through our PTA, and Georgetown ISD offers open enrollment through its Choose GISD program.

George Wagner Middle School

Georgetown, TX Grades 6-8
Public school

Our campus carries the name of George Wagner, a Marine Corps veteran who mentored Georgetown ISD students for nearly 20 years and started the Junior University mentorship program. As the WolfPack, we keep his focus on relationships at the center of how we work with students and with each other. We serve 6th through 8th grade in Georgetown ISD. Students can join band, orchestra, choir, dance, cheer, the National Junior Honor Society, and Student Council. Athletics start with 6th grade pre-athletics, and 7th and 8th graders compete on boys and girls teams. Special education teachers, intervention teachers, and a learning support team work with students who need extra help, while school counselors and a campus nurse look after students through the day. A school resource officer serves the campus, and our library runs a Cavern Readers program and a fall fun run.
