DeSoto West Middle School

DeSoto High School is the public high school for grades 9 to 12 in DeSoto ISD, and our focus is getting graduates college, career and military ready. Career pathways let students earn industry-based certifications before they leave, and our early college experience gives 9th through 12th graders the chance to earn an associate degree through partner Dallas colleges at no cost to the student. Student life stays busy. Academic teams cover speech and debate, mock trial and academic decathlon, and students practice leadership through student council. Our fine arts program includes the Eagle Band and a choral department that performs fall, winter, pre-UIL and spring concerts, travels to perform each year, and has sung at Carnegie Hall. Several of our dance ensembles compete at the state and national level. The DeSoto Eaglettes drill team has performed at football games since 1964, alongside our cheer squad and Eagle athletics. Our counseling center offers individual and small-group counseling, guidance lessons and college and career planning with state-certified counselors, and families can get involved through the PTA and as volunteers.
