First Baptist Church School opened in 1977 as a ministry of Brenham's First Baptist Church, and today we teach children from six weeks old through sixth grade. We are a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and chapel, Bible class and Scripture woven into core subjects are part of each week. Our preschool runs from two-year-olds through kindergarten, with morning classes for twos and threes on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday or five-day schedule. Early readers learn through a phonetic approach with Abeka materials, and from third grade students read novels alongside Bob Jones texts, while ACSI materials support math and science in the primary grades. Elementary students have PE twice a week plus weekly computer, music, library and art, teachers build in STEAM activities, and each student uses a Chromebook in class. Our Early Education Center runs the nursery for babies from six weeks to two years and extended care through sixth grade from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including lunch, nap and playground time for preschoolers and snack and homework time for older children. Fifth and sixth graders can play volleyball, flag football or basketball.

Krause Elementary School teaches kindergarten through 4th grade on East Stone Street in Brenham, and our campus also houses bilingual pre-K classes for Brenham ISD. Our district traces its roots to 1875, when it became the first public school district established in Texas, and Krause is one of three K-4 elementary campuses in the district. Our campus library is run by a librarian who taught 2nd grade before moving to the library. Students borrow print books through the Destiny catalog, read ebooks and audiobooks on Sora and Capstone Interactive, and use TexQuest for research projects. A school counselor works with students once families return the counseling consent form, and district buses serve the campus. Breakfast and lunch come from the district's child nutrition program. After 4th grade, our students move on to Brenham Middle School for grades 5 and 6, then Brenham Junior High School for grades 7 and 8 and Brenham High School.
