The Edison School

The Edison School opened in 2012, started by families who had run out of options, and today we are a not-for-profit K to 12 day school in Madison, about fifteen minutes from downtown Nashville. We are accredited by Cognia, so credits transfer, and we are members of NAIS, TAIS and Autism Tennessee.

Our students learn differently. Many have dyslexia or other language-based differences, ADHD, autism, executive function challenges or anxiety that has led to school refusal, and some are gifted in one area while needing real help in another. Reading is taught directly at whatever age a student needs it, the day uses shorter blocks with movement built in, and reading and math happen in small groups. Routines stay steady, rooms are kept calm and sound-sensitive students are welcome. Planning and finishing work are taught in class next to an adult.

Tuition is $25,000 for every grade. We are approved for Tennessee's IEA, ESA and Education Freedom Scholarship programs, and our own need-based assistance can cover up to 30 percent of tuition.
