Aspire Early Learning Academy opened its first academy here in West Columbia in July 2013, and this B Avenue campus is where our network began before growing to Lexington, Columbia and Moncks Corner. Our founder set out to create a home away from home for children and teachers while keeping the structure of a preschool. At this campus we enroll children from 2 to 5 years old in a small-group setting of 20 children total, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our teachers use the Learning Beyond Paper curriculum, with weekly lesson plans and daily activities, and add South Carolina Good Start, Grow Smart early learning standards and kindergarten readiness work in literacy, math, early writing and healthy living. We take part in the ABC Quality rating program, serve USDA-approved meals and accept South Carolina child care vouchers. Families get photos and updates through the day in the Brightwheel app, and parents can visit at any time under our open door policy. We hold two optional parent-teacher conferences each year to share developmental checklists and classroom portfolios.
