Summerville Preparatory Academy

At its Beech Hill Road campus in Summerville, Beech Hill Elementary School focuses on lifelong learning through excellence, leadership, and empowerment. Its special-services program offers core academic, communication and readiness, and independence support, along with a special-needs preschool program.

Dorchester School District Two spans 234 square miles of the Lowcountry and serves more than 26,000 students in Summerville, Ladson, and North Charleston, about 15 minutes from downtown Charleston. Our district includes 15 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 3 high schools, plus the RISE Academy alternative program and the Dorchester County Adult Education program. About 1,600 of our students come from military families, and we work closely with Joint Base Charleston and hold the Purple Star designation. Students in grades K to 12 receive a device for use at school and at home. School highlights include Rollings Middle School of the Arts, Ashley Ridge High School's PLTW Distinguished School recognition for STEM, and Summerville High School's Manufacturing Center. We also run gifted and talented assessment in grade 2 and a fine arts program across our schools.
