About Comprehensive Learning Center

Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC) began with one family. When Joanne Corless's son AJ was diagnosed with autism in 1992, no public program in the area was built for children like him, so the family started a home-based ABA program and later The AJ Foundation. CLC opened in Warminster in September 2000 as a nonprofit private school for children and young adults with autism, and families now travel from Bucks, Lehigh, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

All instruction follows Applied Behavior Analysis, with goals drawn from assessment and parent input written into each student's IEP and tracked with daily data. Our preschool serves ages 3 to 5 at a one-to-one ratio, our elementary program serves ages 6 to 14 at one-to-one or one-to-two, and our secondary program serves ages 15 to 21 at up to one-to-three. Every program runs full day and includes a six-week extended school year, plus home consultation and family training at least twice a month.

From age 14, students build job skills through community-based vocational training with local partners, and our adult program continues supported employment and habilitation after graduation.

Emotional/behavioral support Anxiety School avoidance

High Road School of Bucks County in Warminster is a private day school for students in grades 1 through 12 with academic, emotional and behavioral needs. We teach in smaller, structured classrooms and implement each student's Individualized Education Program. The school day runs Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Our Spark learning pathway provides academic and behavioral support for students with strong academic potential who need help with emotional or behavioral challenges. Students may be navigating anxiety, school avoidance, trauma or difficulties with regulation and peer relationships. Instruction addresses their strengths and IEP goals, with data used to guide the level of support. We use SESI's Integrated Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to address academic, behavioral and emotional needs. Teachers, therapists and other staff work with families and district partners on skills students use beyond the classroom. Instruction aligns with district curriculum requirements and includes support for social behavior. Services at our Bucks County school include counseling, sports and recreation, a transition and life skills program, sensory rooms and transportation tailored to student needs. Graduation and postsecondary readiness are part of the program, including preparation for vocational school or job training. Our campus is at 299 Jacksonville Road in Warminster.
