About Lansdale Montessori School

Lansdale Montessori School was founded in 1993 by a mother and daughter who discovered Montessori education through a preschool that once used this same building at St. John's UCC on West Main Street. Over three decades we have grown to four classrooms and added before- and after-school care. We are a full member of the American Montessori Society and are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and OCDEL as a private academic preschool and kindergarten.

We serve children from 2 years, 7 months through 6 years old. Each morning, every classroom is a classic mixed-age Montessori early childhood environment,. For 2026-2027 families choose 3 or 5 half days or 3 or 5 full days, and kindergarteners attend 5 full days. Afternoons are grouped by age, with rest time for 3-year-olds and art, music, geography, botany and zoology for older children. Kindergarteners also walk to places like the Lansdale Library and Fairmount Fire Station.

AM extended care begins at 8:00 a.m. and PM care runs until 5:30 p.m., and an eight-week summer camp runs during the break. Siblings attending together receive a 10% discount.

Autism Cerebral palsy Muscular dystrophy

Our Gresh Center on Forty Foot Road is one of three Easterseals Southeastern Pennsylvania sites that run an Approved Private School and a preschool Early Intervention program. The Approved Private School serves children ages 2 to 8 with multiple or significant disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and neurological impairment, who are referred by their Intermediate Unit or school district when a district program cannot meet their needs. Each child starts with an evaluation by staff from several disciplines, and the results shape an Individualized Education Program that we review each year. A teacher leads each classroom with instructional assistants and specialists in occupational, physical, speech, vision, and hearing therapy, audiology, nursing, social work, music therapy, and assistive technology. Our school calendar runs 180 classroom days over 10 months, with full-day sessions four to five times a week. Our Early Intervention classrooms serve children ages 3 to 5 with developmental delays who are referred by an Intermediate Unit. Each classroom follows a regular preschool curriculum adapted for typical children and children with special needs, with the goal of a smooth move into a school-age placement.
