About McCaskey High School
J.P. McCaskey High School is the School District of Lancaster's high school campus, with more than 2,700 students in two buildings: J.P. McCaskey on North Reservoir Street and McCaskey East on Lehigh Avenue. We are one of only 13 Pennsylvania districts offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, and students can also take Advanced Placement, dual enrollment and career and technical education courses, including an Educator Prep program for future teachers.
The arts run deep here. Students perform in district music ensembles, stage a fall play and a large spring musical, and take electives in acting, movement and theater analysis, along with visual arts courses. Student media includes the Tornado Alert morning show, the ECHO yearbook and the Vidette newspaper, and more than 40 clubs meet across campus.
Our Red Tornado field more than 20 varsity sports, from field hockey and football to bowling, swimming and diving, wrestling and boys volleyball. Every enrolled student receives free breakfast and lunch, and district counselors, social workers and health services support students and families. The district also runs alternative programs offering credit recovery and center-based emotional support.
