The West Hill School is a small independent preschool on West Hill Road in Bryn Mawr, enrolling no more than 67 children from age 2 years 7 months through PreKindergarten. Accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, we keep a maximum of nine children per teacher in each classroom. Our main program runs from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. The youngest children join the Red Group five mornings a week or the Green Group on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Three- and four-year-olds attend the Blue Group, and four- and five-year-olds spend their PreK year in the Yellow Group. Days balance play with multisensory academic instruction, and our Discovery Room offers eight centers: blocks, dramatic play, science and nature, math and manipulatives, art, literacy, music and movement, and bikes. Families can add early arrival from 8:00 a.m., a Lunch Bunch hour, and Afternoon Clubs until 3:00 p.m. with art, science, nature, cooking and yoga. Four one-week summer sessions run in June. Need-based tuition assistance is available for five-day students.
