Linwood Elementary serves kindergarten through fifth grade in the North Clackamas School District. We share our building on SE Linwood Avenue with Sojourner, a second school led by the same principal, which is why families often hear the two names together. Students learn math with enVision and IXL, and specialist teachers lead music, physical education, and health and wellness classes. Every class visits the library once a week to check out books, and breakfast is served when the building opens each morning. ELD teachers and an ELD paraeducator support students who are learning English. Our resource room teacher provides small-group and individual instruction for students on IEPs, and an occupational therapist, a speech-language pathologist and a school counselor work with our students on site. Every second grader in the district takes a universal Talented and Gifted screening, and identified students receive differentiated instruction in math or reading. The district CARE program offers before and after school care with arts, STEM and physical activities, with district transportation to a CARE site when a school does not host one.
