McMinnville Montessori School

McMinnville, ORGrades PreK-8

McMinnville Montessori School began in the fall of 1983 as a single primary classroom started by two families, became a parent-run nonprofit in 1985 and has owned its building on SE Brooks Street since 1994. Today we serve children ages 3 to 12 in multi-age Montessori classrooms led by guides who hold AMI Montessori diplomas. Primary classrooms (ages 3 to 6) begin with a three-hour morning work cycle and snack, followed by lunch, outdoor time in the Forest and River rooms, and an afternoon work cycle with a nap for younger children. Half-day pickup is available, and we ask families to treat primary as a three-year commitment. Elementary students (Lower, grades 1 to 3, and Upper, grades 4 to 6) explore Cosmic Education and the Five Great Lessons and run regular class meetings. Morning care starts at 7:30 a.m., and aftercare runs until 4:30 p.m. with a snack, mostly outdoors. Our summer camp is open to all Yamhill County children ages 3 to 12, in full or half days for one to eight weeks. A limited number of scholarships are offered each year.
