Oak Grove Academy is a Forest Grove School District program that pairs specially designed instruction with therapeutic support at two sites: the Tom McCall site in Forest Grove and the Gales Creek site on NW Sargent Road. Our work follows the Integrated Intervention Model, combining evidence-based interventions with strong relationships whether a student is stabilizing or in active growth. Two Licensed Professional Counselors serve as our Mental Health Specialists. They provide individual counseling, DBT-informed skills groups, milieu coaching and staff consultation, and they plan treatment together with each student's IEP team. Skills instruction targets executive functioning, communication, emotional regulation and cognitive flexibility through adapted Dialectical Behavior Therapy, the Skills System, Skillstreaming and Zones of Regulation, and case management is part of the program. Academically, students learn through Canvas, Odysseyware and Let's Go Learn. Students have tended a community garden and painted a campus art mural, and they can play Forest Grove Unified Sports. Our mission is to prepare students for post-secondary education, meaningful employment and life in the community.
