St. Mary's Catholic School - Ponca City

St. Mary's Catholic School opened on September 2, 1901, under the Sisters of Divine Providence, and our present building on South 7th Street was dedicated in 1928. A kindergarten followed in 1972 and a preschool in 1978, and adding 7th and 8th grade in 1996 and 1997 completed today's preschool through 8th grade program.

We are a parochial school funded and operated by St. Mary's Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, accredited by the Oklahoma Conference of Catholic School Accrediting Association and the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Our students sing at Wednesday school Mass as Junior Cantors starting in 3rd grade, train as altar servers in 4th grade, and serve as lectors from 6th grade.

Electives include knitting, French, band, piano, cooking, yearbook and photography, and STEM. Classes take on service projects such as Thanksgiving food baskets, recycling, and volunteer work with the Humane Society. Our Parent-Teacher Council hosts the annual Fall Fest, and families may use Oklahoma's Parental Choice Tax Credit.
