CORS Head Start - Sidney

CORS Head Start in Sidney is the Shelby County center of the Council on Rural Services, a nonprofit that runs early childhood programs across nine counties in west-central Ohio. At our North Main Avenue building we serve expectant mothers, infants and toddlers through Early Head Start, and children ages 3 to 5 through Head Start.

Families can choose a full-day, full-year option for birth to 5, a full-day option that follows the school year for 3 to 5 year olds, or home-based services using the Parents as Teachers curriculum with weekly visits. Classroom days last 6.5 hours, five days a week, with individualized learning plans, small-group teaching and a low teacher-to-child ratio.

Breakfast, lunch and a mid-day snack are served at no cost. We provide programming for children with special needs, and our fenced playground is divided by age group behind a locked entrance. All CORS centers, including Sidney, hold Ohio's Step Up to Quality Gold rating.
