About Watkins Intermediate School
Watkins Intermediate serves every 4th and 5th grade student in the Southwest Licking School District, so our building is the bridge between elementary school and Watkins Middle School. We opened in a new facility in January 2021.
Behavior support here runs through PBIS and the PAX Good Behavior Game. Students work together to name the behaviors they want to see more of, and they can earn Warrior Black and Golds, Leader of the Month recognition and quarterly awards. Our Warrior HEART values are honesty, empathy, accountability, respect and togetherness. Classes also practice Calm Classroom mindfulness activities at least three times a day to build focus and emotional regulation.
Our school counselors, a school nurse and district social worker services support students, and the district offers gifted services and English learner support. Fathers and father figures volunteer through our Watch D.O.G.S. program.

Etna Elementary School
Etna Elementary is a Southwest Licking public school in Pataskala. Our Warrior Way centers on six themes: experience, life skills, pride, opportunity, creativity and community. Our building uses the PAX Good Behavior Game within a schoolwide PBIS framework. Through PAX, students practice self-regulation and self-management, and our expectations, called PAXpectations, apply in classrooms and on the bus. Our school counselor works with students in classrooms, one-on-one and in small groups. Individual sessions are short-term, usually about 20 minutes, and small groups meet weekly for six weeks on topics such as social skills, emotional regulation, family changes and anxiety. Social worker services are also available. Families volunteer through the Watch DOGS program and our PTO, and free and reduced-price lunch is available for eligible families.
Liberty Christian Academy
Liberty Christian Academy (LCA) is dedicated to providing a quality, Christ-centered educational experience for students from preschool through high school. The academy serves a diverse range of learners, fostering an environment where children aged 3 to 18 can thrive academically and spiritually. At LCA, education is approached through a biblical worldview, ensuring that every subject is taught with an emphasis on scriptural principles. This holistic approach not only builds a strong academic foundation but also nurtures the faith of each student. The Early Education Center offers engaging programs for preschoolers and kindergarteners, while the elementary program challenges students in grades 1 through 5 to reach their academic potential within a distinctly Christian context. As students transition to middle school (grades 6-8), they are prepared for college-preparatory courses in high school (grades 9-12), where the focus is on readiness for higher education. LCA stands out with its commitment to low student-teacher ratios, fostering personalized attention and strong family partnerships, which enhance the learning experience. Additionally, the academy emphasizes not just academic excellence but also spiritual growth and character development, making it a unique and nurturing community for families seeking an enriching educational environment.
Tri-Village Christian Academy
Tri-Village Christian Academy is a nurturing educational environment dedicated to children aged 2 to 6 years, emphasizing a holistic approach that integrates faith with learning. As a ministry of Tri-Village Christian Church, the academy's core mission is to provide a strong foundation in both spiritual and academic growth. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to align with the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning and Development Standards, promoting active learning through exploration, creativity, and problem-solving. Children engage in a variety of activities, including themed lessons, Bible stories, daily prayer, music, and creative arts, all aimed at fostering essential skills for future academic success. What sets Tri-Village apart is its commitment to low student-teacher ratios and strong partnerships with families, ensuring personalized attention and support for each child's unique developmental needs. With options for both full and part-time classes and extended care available, the academy creates an inclusive community that prepares young learners not just for kindergarten but for lifelong learning.
