About Granger Elementary School
Granger Elementary serves preschool through fifth grade for Highland Local Schools in Medina, and our building is home to the district's Little Hornets Preschool, rated 5 stars by Ohio's Step Up to Quality. Three preschool classrooms here combine children ages 3 to 5 who have delays or disabilities with typically developing peers, and no session enrolls more than 16 children.
Preschoolers with disabilities receive classroom instruction, school psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy at no cost to parents. Typical peers are chosen by lottery and attend half-day sessions Monday through Thursday for $160 per month.
For school-age students, our district provides special education classrooms, resource rooms, small-group instruction, speech and language, occupational and physical therapy, and adapted physical education. Granger families also have a school counseling department, an active PTO and the district's Highland Express latchkey child care program.

Buckeye Primary School
Buckeye Primary School teaches kindergarten through third grade on Columbia Road in Medina. Early literacy anchors its work: teachers help children build the reading foundation they need for later learning while setting rigorous goals across subjects. The Portrait of a Buck encourages curiosity, creativity, and character, and classroom activities ask students to think critically and solve problems. Its “Believe. Empower. Achieve.” motto captures that emphasis on growth and confidence. Buckeye Primary’s staff includes intervention and special education teachers, speech services, a school psychologist, and guidance support. Art, physical education, and health teachers add other ways for children to learn and participate. The school celebrates student accomplishments through activities such as its Star Students recognition and talent show. Principal Sarah Rivera invites families and staff to work together as students move through the primary grades. Families can contact the school office with questions about enrollment or student support.
Buckeye Senior High School
Buckeye High School students can earn free college credit without leaving campus. We run an in-house College Credit Plus partnership with Cuyahoga Community College and have also worked with The University of Akron, Lorain County Community College, Ashland University, Cleveland State University and The Ohio State University. We are the high school of the Buckeye Local School District in Medina County. Students take math, English language arts, science, social studies and world languages, plus electives that include an agriscience program with an active FFA chapter. Students can also attend career-technical programs at the Medina County Career Center. Our counseling department handles scheduling, graduation requirements, ACT and SAT preparation, career advising, financial aid and summer school, and our prevention counselors connect families with community resources.
Hobby Horse Preschool
Playful Puppies and Colorful Crayons provide morning classroom options for younger preschoolers at Hobby Horse Preschool. Busy Bees offers sessions for four-year-olds, while Dino Den and Lucky Llamas provide full-day choices for older four- and five-year-olds. We offer classes across ages three, four and five; each has its own age and toilet-training requirements, and the schedule depends on the days a family selects. Our child-centered education in Medina takes place in a Christian setting. We use group and individual play-based learning to address social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual development, following Ohio's Early Learning Content Standards. Teachers hold education degrees, Child Development Associate credentials or the qualifications Ohio requires for preschool teaching. All staff train in CPR, first aid, communicable disease and recognizing child abuse. Families can choose monthly, half-year or full-year tuition payments. We offer sibling and military discounts under the stated terms, and families may apply for scholarship assistance. Scholarship support depends on review and approval. We accept tuition payments by cash, personal check, cashier's check, money order or online; online payments carry a small convenience fee.
