Wood Lane School

Wood Lane School serves students from kindergarten up to age 22 who need support for significant, complex disabilities. The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities operates the school in Bowling Green, and students keep their membership in their home school district while attending. Our county board has served Wood County children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities since 1955.

Class sizes are limited to eight students with a high ratio of adults to students, and learners loop with the same teacher for several years so familiar staff know each student well. Instruction is structured and individualized to help students progress in their grade-level curriculum. Intervention specialists, paraprofessionals and related service staff work together, and each student's IEP sets additional services such as communication and language development and vocational training and job development. We also run a full-service breakfast and lunch program.
