About Victory Learning Academy
Victory Learning Academy opened on North Grace Street in Rocky Mount on December 2, 2016, and today we care for children from infancy through school age. Classrooms are grouped by age: infants up to 11 months (1:5 ratio, maximum 10), one-year-olds (1:6, maximum 12), two-year-olds, early preschool, Pre-K and a school-age group for children 5 and up.
Days are built around role play, independent and group study, and plenty of play, and teachers track age-appropriate developmental milestones for each child. Babies learn sign language so they can communicate before they talk, and older children get an introduction to Spanish. Meals run through the whole day, from breakfast and a morning snack to lunch, an afternoon snack and dinner.
Care starts as early as 6:00 a.m. on weekdays, and extended care until 7:30 p.m. is available at an additional rate. Registration is $50 for the first child and $25 for each additional child, with a $100 annual enrollment fee. We accept DSS vouchers and Down East Partnership scholarships. A second site, VLA II, is being restored inside the former O.R. Pope Elementary School building.
