South Rowan Academy

South Rowan Academy of Child Development has cared for children in Rowan County for over forty years, from its main location on Main Street in China Grove. Children from 15 months through 12 years are enrolled across preschool, state-funded NC Pre-K, school-age care, and summer camp. Preschool days are play-based: games and activities build letters, colors, shapes, numbers, early science and math, and art alongside socialization and language, and teachers work with families through potty training. Preschoolers take field trips to places like the fire and police departments, and the Rowan Public Library Book Mobile visits monthly. Summer campers, from five-year-olds who have finished kindergarten through rising sixth graders, go bowling, skating, and swimming three days a week. Enrollment is open year round, and self-pay and DSS vouchers are accepted.
