Cyzner Institute

Cyzner Institute’s Charlotte day school serves children from preschool through middle school. Placement depends on a child’s needs and independence as well as age, so a classroom does not always match a traditional grade. Developmental Learning combines school readiness with therapeutic support for preschoolers and some children up to about age eight. Integrated Learning provides small kindergarten through middle school classes, individual teacher time, social skills work, and occupational and speech-language consultation. The Adaptive Functional Life Skills program focuses on independence, communication, and participation in everyday settings; it runs when enough students enroll. Teachers, behavior staff, and therapists meet regularly to review progress, and parents meet monthly with the director or BCBA. Families can ask the admissions team which program and level would fit their child.
