BOCES - Westhampton Beach Learning Center

Westhampton Beach Learning Center is an Eastern Suffolk BOCES special education school serving elementary, middle and secondary students whose needs are met through specialized, center-based programs. Our main campus is on Old Riverhead Road in Westhampton Beach, and we also run included-site classrooms inside East Moriches Elementary and East Moriches Middle School, where our students share a building with their general education peers.

We operate two tracks. The Academic Program teaches toward the Common Core State Standards with evidence-based instruction and support services, and the Developmental Program serves students who need a more functional, skills-based approach. Speech therapy is part of the services students receive, and older students take part in prevocational classes, such as a sneaker recycling project.

Campus life includes Self-Care Day, science assemblies and an annual Family Fun Night run with our Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO). Students are placed here through their home district's special education process.
