About Saxton Middle School
Saxton Middle School serves sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in the Patchogue-Medford School District, and our building on Saxton Street is also home to the district's Special Education and Pupil Services Office.
Our course of study follows New York State requirements, including art, music, library, health, career and technical education, and at least one unit of a language other than English by the end of grade 8. English as a New Language and bilingual education are provided where student need is established. Students who qualify can move into Math 7 Accelerated, then take Algebra I and Earth Science in eighth grade for high school credit, and Studio Art is open by teacher recommendation.
Our staff includes a school nurse, psychologist, social worker, and guidance office. Students with disabilities are served through the district's Committee on Special Education, with Section 504 plans and a continuum of placements available.
