Play-based learning Infant and toddler care Kindergarten readiness

Apple of Your Eye Learning Center has cared for and taught young children in South County St. Louis for more than 40 years. We are a state-licensed center enrolling children from six weeks old through kindergarten, and we are open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our preschool curriculum for three- and four-year-olds is built around play and covers language, mathematics, science, social science, fine arts, foreign languages, and large and small motor skills. Four-year-olds work on letter and number recognition, counting to 20, shapes and colors, writing their first name and holding a pencil correctly, along with social skills such as taking turns and using words to settle conflicts. Outdoor time is part of every day. Children go on field trips, and we run a summer camp program. Teachers meet with each family twice a year for parent-teacher conferences, and teachers guide behavior through redirection and time-outs.
