Magnolia Montessori School
Magnolia Montessori School opened in 2009 in Taylor, Mississippi, as Plein Air Montessori School, and moved to our current campus on College Hill Road in Oxford in 2014. We are a non-profit school offering fully implemented Montessori education to children from 15 months to 12 years old, in toddler, primary and elementary programs. Our classrooms are screen-free and filled with hands-on Montessori materials, and lessons follow each child's individual progress. In our Elementary class, the Ruby Bridges Classroom Community for ages 6 to 12, students work through morning and afternoon work cycles, choose research topics and small group projects, and study ancient civilizations, language mechanics, biological and geological classification, geography, and math through basic algebra. The elementary curriculum is aligned with Mississippi Department of Education guidelines for math and language arts. Students join a spring science fair and present historical figures in costume at Historical Halloween. Every day, students and guides share a family-style lunch prepared in-house with fresh, seasonal ingredients, some grown by our Elementary Garden Club, and meals are included in tuition. We also run a summer camp, and siblings receive a 10 percent tuition discount.
