Best Special Needs Schools in Warren, Michigan (2026)

The CLPS Early Childhood Center is Center Line Public Schools' preschool, housed in the Eve Kaltz Academy 21 and Special Programs building on Engleman Road in Warren. We offer two programs: the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP PreK for All) and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). GSRP is a free, state-funded preschool for children who turn 4 by September 1, with a waiver window through December 1. We run six full school-day GSRP classrooms Monday through Friday, with class times of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Instruction follows The Creative Curriculum, where studies grow out of children's own interests, and teachers use the GOLD assessment to track each child's progress. Classroom projects have included leaf rubbings, music and movement, homemade apple pie and fizzing volcanoes. For children who qualify, ECSE provides speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy. Our ECSE class serves children with developmental delays, and our Transition ECSE class supports children with speech and language delays.
