Best Special Needs Schools in Oakland Township, Michigan (2026)

Delta Kelly Elementary takes its name from a teacher who spent almost 40 years in Oakland County classrooms, helped start the Baldwin School Environmental Student Council in 1972, and co-founded the Oakland Township Historical Society. Our Cardinals carry that sense of community into Rochester Community Schools today. We are a partner school of The Positivity Project, and weekly lessons build character strengths and an Other People Mindset, alongside mindfulness, restorative practices, and peer mentors. A learning consultant, an academic interventionist, and a behavior interventionist support students who need more help. Students from TK through 5th grade share schoolwide events such as a cultural passport day, a build challenge inspired by Caine's Arcade, and a Veterans Day ceremony honoring local veterans. Go Team therapy dogs also visit classrooms, and the district supplies all required basic school supplies.
