Muskegon Montessori Academy for Environmental Change

Muskegon Montessori Academy for Environmental Change pairs the Montessori Method with daily time outdoors. We are a tuition-free public charter school on McCracken Street in Norton Shores serving children from age 4 through 8th grade, with a free GSRP preschool and a tuition-based preschool option alongside kindergarten through grade 8.

Our teachers and administrators are trained in the Montessori Method, and students work at their own pace through practical life, sensorial, math, language arts and science lessons, with added studies in geography and culture, music, art, sign language and computers. Place-based education takes students into their neighborhoods and natural settings to build a sense of community and care for the environment.

We are a Certified Green School: we recycle, work to save energy, and compost fruit and vegetable scraps into soil for our garden. Breakfast is available to students each morning.
