Our Jenison center opened in late spring 2022 as the sixth Milestones Early Learning location. Milestones is a locally owned West Michigan company that began in 2005, when our founder, who studied special education at Western Michigan University, opened the first center in Cascade. We serve children from six weeks to twelve years old with year-round programs, from infant and toddler rooms through preschool and school-age care. Our curriculum is HighScope, a research-based, play-based approach built on open-ended activities, child-led learning, and children planning and reflecting on their own work. Learning happens one-on-one, in small groups and in large groups throughout the daily routine. Each Milestones center has an outdoor classroom and natural playground, where children explore stone, wood, plants, water and soil. Our teachers are certified and degreed, and caregivers share observations with parents and set developmental goals together.
