Hamtramck Academy is a tuition-free public charter school for kindergarten through eighth grade, part of the National Heritage Academies network of more than 100 schools. Bay Mills Community College authorizes our charter, and admission requires no entrance exam or interview; when applications exceed openings during open enrollment, we hold a random lottery. Each classroom is backed by a designated dean, with separate deans for lower elementary, upper elementary and middle school. Character education runs through our Moral Focus program, where students practice virtues such as respect, gratitude, perseverance and integrity, and our Behave with Care approach keeps expectations the same in every room.
