Mittineague Children's Center

Since 2005, Mittineague Center for Early Learning, formerly Mittineague Children's Center, has offered year-round education and care in West Springfield for children 4 weeks to 7 years old. The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care licenses the center, and we are open weekdays, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Infant rooms are licensed for 7 babies each, toddler rooms for 9, and preschool rooms for 10 to 15 children. Infant and toddler teachers plan five activities a day across language, cognitive, social-emotional, physical and art goals. Preschool and Pre-K classes use Experience Curriculum, a monthly themed kit with STEM, art, music and literacy lessons every day, and circle time, learning centers and stories fill out the day.

Children play outside morning and afternoon on two large fenced playgrounds and a grassy area used for events and sprinkler play, and an indoor gym takes over in bad weather. Infants and toddlers also take stroller walks around the neighborhood. We provide morning and afternoon snacks and Enfamil formula for infants, and families pack lunch.
