Don Watson Academy, an RFK Community Alliance School

Don Watson Academy serves students ages 9–21 in a year-round therapeutic day school in Lancaster. The RFK Community Alliance program works with students who have significant social, emotional, or behavioral needs, using a trauma-responsive approach to build academic skills, independence, and ways to solve problems. Staff coordinate special education with referring school districts and teach in small classes with low student-to-teacher ratios.

Students can receive speech and language therapy, clinical services, and sensory integration support. Character education and social-skills lessons run alongside adventure activities such as canoeing, rock climbing, and the school's challenge course. Don Watson also offers 40-day extended evaluations and operates as a Massachusetts-approved Chapter 766 special education day program. Families interested in placement can contact the admissions team; current families can contact the Lancaster school office.
