Monarch Preschool College Park

Monarch Preschool College Park is a project-based pre-kindergarten in College Park, Maryland for children ages 3 to 5. It operates as part of The Children's Guild, and it is a non-denominational, non-religious program with no church affiliation or religious study. The school carries a Maryland EXCELS quality rating. Days are built around hands-on, real-world projects rather than worksheets, with daily routines meant to build social and emotional skills alongside early academics. The school keeps an open-door policy and emphasizes family engagement, and it offers a summer camp in addition to the regular school year.

The schedule is designed for working families. The core school day runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with optional before care from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and after care from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Families can enroll for 5, 3, or 2 days per week. The best way to see the program is an in-person tour, which the school schedules on request, and there are short video walkthroughs covering a typical day and the project-based approach.

Tuition is billed monthly and split into two payments due on the 1st and 15th. The five-day school-day program is $1,330 per month, three days is $950, and two days is $730. Before care adds $100 per month and after care adds $170 per month. There is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $175. Discounts include a $100 sibling discount on monthly tuition per child, a referral discount of 5 percent off monthly tuition for three months per enrollment, and a 10 percent discount for City of College Park employees and first responders. For financial assistance, the school points families to the Maryland Child Care Scholarship Program through the state's family portal.
