Sheppard Pratt School - Severn River Middle School

Wee Lad and Lassie has taught young children in Arnold since 1969, on a wooded acre along Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. We are a small private early learning center accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education, with a 5 Check Maryland EXCELS rating. Our classes cover twos, threes and Pre-K. The two-year-old room centers on dramatic play and friendships through thematic units, our three-year-old class is capped at 10 children, and our accredited Pre-K builds the social, emotional and academic skills children need for kindergarten. Morning preschool runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and extended care for working families runs until 5 p.m., with schedules from two half-days up to five full days. Our teachers hold degrees and use developmentally appropriate practice. We care for many children with asthma and food allergies. The building is peanut and tree nut free, and we hold Asthma Friendly Childcare Certification from the Maryland Department of Health. We also offer grant-funded community-based public Pre-K for 4s, tuition-free for qualifying families, along with themed summer camps.

ASDEC is the only IMSLEC-accredited center providing reading and math specialists who are nationally certified by ALTA and AOG. Your child will have access to specialists who have trained for up to 1000 hours to deliver intensive one-to-one or small group instruction designed to meet their unique learning needs.
