About Baker Intermediate School
Baker Intermediate School serves fifth and sixth graders for Clark County Public Schools in Winchester, a two-year stop between elementary and middle school. Students have grade-level teachers for language arts, math, science, and social studies, and each grade has its own school counselor.
The school week includes art, physical education and health, and career exploration. Students can join band, orchestra, or chorus and theatre arts, and our orchestra performs for families. A library media specialist runs our school library.
Special education is part of our staffing. Collaboration teachers support students with IEPs in general classrooms, a special education facilitator coordinates services, and our MSD classroom serves students with moderate and severe disabilities with help from paraprofessional educators. A speech-language pathologist, an English learner teacher, and a school nurse work in the building. Our Family Resource and Youth Services Center connects families with support, and the PTO hosts dances and family nights. We are a Title I school and observe Red Ribbon Week and Unity Day each fall.
