Grandwood Education Center

Grandwood Education Center is a specialized special education program operated by the Woodward-Granger Community School District in Granger. We serve students from kindergarten through post-secondary who need intensive support in cognitive, emotional or behavioral areas, and our students come from Woodward-Granger, the Woodward Resource Center and partner districts.

Classrooms are grouped by age and functional level. Certified teachers and instructional associates keep an average ratio of one teacher to four to six students, with associate support matched to each student. Our curriculum combines functional skills, academics, social-emotional learning through PBIS and Zones, vocational training, and Community Learning Experiences out in the community.

All Grandwood students take part in vocational experiences, beginning with pre-vocational skill training and moving to on-campus or off-campus work sites. Placement happens through the student's home district: our staff review the IEP and observe the student in their current school, families tour the building, and the sending district holds an IEP meeting to change placement.
